Our society needs to focus on our youth and their educational, emotional, and economic needs. No public money for vouchers or charter expansion!

Equitable funding for all schools in the district. Make every school a magnet for learning!

Make school buildings into hubs of comprehensive academic, health, and social wraparound services. These services promote equity and improve well-being for students, families, and communities.

Competent and compassionate deans and coaches to implement real restorative justice programs.

A culturally relevant anti-racist, anti-sexist curriculum that values all members of society.

To support special education students and students with mental health and social challenges.

A tax structure that fully supports public education without overburdening working and middle-class people. Progressive taxation so all, including big business, pay a fair share of the cost.

Access to busing is for all students. This is an equity issue as personal transportation is generally much easier for middle-class northside parents.

All English language learners deserve high quality bilingual educational services. I am committed to expanding dual language programs in Spanish and other languages and strongly support students seeking the Seal of Biliteracy.
About this Election
This election is historic. The School Board has been appointed by the mayor going back to Daley in the 1980s. Now we have a chance to vote for an elected, representative school board. Here are some key facts for the race:

The election is on November 3rd, part of the General Midterm Elections. It is non-partisan (though Debby is the progressive in the race).
Early voting starts on October 1 downtown and October 19 in each ward. See early voting locations.

That’s perfect! Ebony is the school board member in District 2A, which was combined with 2B in 2024 as they rolled out the new election.
Ebony and Debby have endorsed each other, and even held a joint launch party. They look forward to working together on the school board to keep fighting for fully funded public schools.
